Small Luxuries

Once again leaving a city in our rear view mirror we head North to Port Augusta before turning a sharp left and heading west for what in the blink of an eye becomes our first glimpse of Australia’s red Outback. We cant believe how vast and ever changing Australia’s landscapes really are!

This free camp was in a town called Iron Knob. Named after the big hill full of rich iron ore that is being mined here, and barely supporting a town that has definitely seen richer times. However we quickly learned how great the locals were after lighting our campfire which seemed to be in direct line from the local pub back to everyone’s homes. Some good conversation was had that night.

Two extremely helpful things to find if you can when free camping are a toilet and a kitchen. This spot had them both.
