Spoiled for choice
Sometimes you just have to say yes to taking detours, especially if they land you in towns like Central Tilba. The sound of a piano accordion spills out of a mid 19th century window onto a town that is definitely like stepping back in time. Original shop fronts still line the streets looking as they must have done back in their day and their stories are told on signs at their fronts and by the people who now run them.
Importantly something Central Tilba embraces is the Indigenous history of the region, where the stories of the land and the names of its region are proudly known by everyone we met in the town. Both Indigenous and European art and photography is for sale along with local produce where cheese, olives, wine and all their accompaniments can be purchased. “Try try try before you buy”. We absolutely did!
